Our approach

Care in the writing.
Clarity in the evidence.

The Fresh is an independent field-to-kitchen publication by FRSH. These are the choices that guide what appears on our pages.

Give the subject its own depth

A useful story starts with a specific question. We aim to explain the relevant details in natural language, distinguish similar terms and give the reader a practical way to continue. Our specialist titles have distinct purposes, with connections offered where they help the next question.

Keep the source near the fact

Published data, official explanations and academic research have different jobs. We identify sources and the period or conditions they describe. Regional figures remain regional; a dated reference does not become a live quote, and an unexplained gap does not become a zero.

Describe the work that actually happened

Original explanations are identified as such. A proposed method is not a completed experiment. We do not invent field visits, interviews, contributors, measurements or kitchen tests. AI-assisted drafts and images require editorial checking; the use of an illustration does not establish a real location, product or result.

Let the image tell the right story

Representative artwork helps introduce a theme. It is labelled so it cannot be mistaken for evidence of a particular property, inspection or test. Documentary contributions need clear rights and a factual account of what they show.

Identify commercial material

Advertising and paid partnerships are distinguished from editorial work. An enquiry does not buy a conclusion or establish an affiliation. Property advertisements require authority to publish, media rights, checked particulars and a way to correct or remove outdated material.

Respect private contributions

Private notes and documents do not become public articles automatically. Permission, an appropriate scope and a clear factual review come before publication. Initial story enquiries should leave out sensitive financial records, signatures and precise property details.

Make a correction possible

A clear correction starts with the page, the passage in question and the evidence that would improve it. We welcome specific questions about our work and keep material limits visible rather than filling them with confident language.
