The federal Advance Payments Program is a loan-guarantee program delivered through participating administrators. Eligibility, advance limits, interest treatment and repayment requirements can change by program year and commodity.
It is designed around agricultural products and marketing cash flow. It is not a general-purpose equipment or land loan.
Capital loans
The Canadian Agricultural Loans Act program works through eligible financial institutions. It can support qualifying farm establishment, improvement and development purposes. The lender adjudicates and administers the loan.

The Farm Debt Mediation Service offers eligible farmers a confidential process involving financial review and mediation. Early contact can preserve more options than waiting until every relationship is under pressure.
